hawaii | part one | makapu'u

After uploading nearly 2,000 photos, I decided that I am going to have to share these in multiple parts! Just prior to leaving for Oahu, I finally treated myself to a new camera {Nikon D3200} hence the photo taking overload. But over the course of 15 days, we saw so many incredible things it was impossible to hold myself back. Despite us being stricken by a cold, we brought ourselves to do a few walks/hikes including this one; Makapu'u which is on the leeward side of the island is known as the lighthouse lookout point - Nate of course had to see this being a lighthouse lover, while I enjoyed all the natural landscaping. Veering off the path, we explored the tops of the hills housing old pillboxes as the sun prepared to set. It was a truly beautiful afternoon.
